Clinician satisfaction with treatment outcomes among patients with moderate to severe non-nodular Acne Vulgaris (AV) administered sarecycline in community practices across the U.S in PROSES study: Analysis by concomitant medication use

Introduction: The objective of this analysis was to evaluate clinician satisfaction with treatment outcomes, stratified by the use concomitant acne medications, among AV patients administered sarecycline in community practices across U.S.
 Methods: A single-arm, prospective cohort study (PROSES) conducted moderate-to-severe non-nodular >9 years who were prescribed real-world US. Clinician outcomes assessed on a five-point adjectival response scale (1 (very dissatisfied)-5 satisfied)). Proportion for whom clinicians reported very satisfied/satisfied analyzed, any medication during (Yes vs. No (monotherapy)).
 Results: total 253 completed (adults 60.08% (mean age 26.63); pediatric 39.92% 14.81); female: 66.40%; white/Caucasian: 68.38%, African American: 8.70%; other races: 22.92%). Per IGA at baseline, 86.56% & 13.44% had moderate and severe AV, respectively. Key treatments observed included: topical retinoids (24.51%), antibiotics (13.44%), benzoyl peroxide (5.93%), dapsone (5.14%) (17.00%; predominantly adapalene/benzoyl peroxide). Half (49.80%) monotherapy (i.e., did not AV).
 In overall cohort, week-12, 88.14% patients. At satisfied/satisfied) 88.98% using 87.30% no medications monotherapy).
 Conclusion: Within sarecycline, narrow-spectrum, tetracycline-derived antibiotic, 12 weeks, overwhelming majority similar those medications.
